Don't move
When photographing subjects that are constantly in motion you never know what special moments you can capture through the lens of your camera. Sometimes you just get lucky! This was a shot I was just that "lucky" as trying to capture a working sheepdog is a constant challenge as your subject is far from being still and many animals are moving around you. So, you've got to be very aware of your environment making it quite an experience. http://www.spotofblue.com #spotofblue @spotofblue

Suggestive silhouette
During a photo shoot for a construction contractor I found time to create. I placed the model(myself) behind a sheet of plastic used to protect a work area. Placing an off camera flash on the floor set at 1/32 behind the subject and used a wide angle lense 10-22mm at f11 and shutter speed of 1/250

Classic Billiards
A challenging photoshop composite. The background image was my first item I had to work with. It's a poster from the mid-1800's and my client only had a picture from another collector who was selling the piece. The original photo was taken with a cell phone and was sitting on the floor of a room with tons of tables, chairs, etc. around it and the poster's actual size is 4x8 feet so, the picture had to be taken from quite a distance away at at an unusually odd angle and the bottom right corner was obscured by furniture. I had to manipulate it in photoshop to get it square and legible and then using content-aware to recreate the bottom right corner. I had done all the product shots months before with a light box but, still had to edit in lightroom and photoshop. Once in photoshop it came down to making selections, mask etc. for individual pieces. I

This photo was captured during a break in some severe weather out on the Texas plains. I did capture it in HDR and only a few photoshop edits.

Roads of Texas
This was shot on a past trip on the way back from San Antonio,TX. where I ventured off the beaten path and found this beautiful road lined by the trees that made a natural arch. The squirrel just happened. My original photo the sky was blown out so I made some exposure changes in photoshop raw where I used a gradient filter. I then created a saturation level and added a high pass filter layer and brushed the foliage to get a crispness there. Cropped a bit and resized the image and also used a noise reduction filter to bring it all together.

Artist of wood
A choreographed shoot for a client with off-camera lighting using a beauty dish to get an artistic feel for his craft. This is the hero shot and I wanted to catch some of his background surroundings so I used a small rim light to catch some light there and on the subject.

Light Painting 1
A light painting project for a client that offered to let me capture their home in a nontraditional fashion. They are very pleased with the result and intend on using for Christmas greetings as well. I produced a 13x19 print for a foam core mounting and will be selecting frame and matting in the next few days.

composite
Working with some past photos and came up with this composite. The old police car actually sat in front of a buy and sell, gold store. It was very close to a brick building and the selection process was a very arduous process, to say the least. I shot both with the same lens so I'd get a similar perspective.
